Molecular Biology major Karina Gomez, CMC ’12, has been awarded a Fulbright Award. Her project involves working with a research group in Quito, Equador to screen for new drugs that inhibit the pathogen of Chagas Disease. Chagas kills thousands of individuals each year mostly among indigent populations in North, Central and South America, and is considered to be one of the most neglected diseases in the world. |
