Professor of Biology Don McFarlane has published a paper in the Journal Geomorphology. With coauthor Joyce Lundberg, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, Dr. McFarlane has studied the effects of resident bats on the Gomantong cave system in eastern Sabah, Malaysia. They have gathered data in Gomantong and modeled post-speleogenetic biogenic corrosion of bedrock as a function of the number of bats residing in the caves. |
