Asst Professor of Biology Melissa Coleman has published a scholarly article in the prestigious research journal Science. In collaboration with Professor E.S. Fortune and others, Dr. Coleman's study, "Neural mechanisms for the coordination of duet singing in wrens" looks at birdsong in the plain-tailed wren, which lives on the volcanic slopes of Ecuador. Their work has furthered our understanding of cooperative behavior in the species. DOI: 10.1126/science.1209867 |
